Senior Electrical Engineer (8+ yrs)

Location: San Diego, California, USA; hybrid schedule with onsite work Monday–Wednesday and optional work-from-home on Thursday and Friday.

Salary: $115,000–$140,000 base salary annually, depending on experience, plus paid overtime and a discretionary year-end bonus.

What you will do

• Design electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, load calculations, equipment layouts, and single-line diagrams.
• Prepare construction documents, power system studies, specifications, and electrical plans.
• Lead and supervise medium- and low-voltage AC/DC design and interior and exterior lighting design.
• Support projects through design and construction by reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, addressing AHJ comments, and attending site visits.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices.
• Manage electrical design projects, review deliverables through QA/QC, and supervise a small team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer license in Electrical Engineering held for at least three years.
• At least eight years of electrical design experience, including experience in AEC consulting.
• Experience with OSHPD/HCAi, K-12, higher education, or military/DOD projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit, plus knowledge of Title 24 Part 6 California Energy Conservation Code.
• Project management, communication, analytical, organizational, supervisory, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with multifamily, commercial, and institutional projects.
• Experience with battery energy storage systems.
• Experience with SKM and/or ETAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, or Bluebeam.
