Senior Engineer - Mechanical - NPD (Heavy Vehicles)

Location: Garner, Iowa, United States; the role combines office duties with physical work in field or production environments.

Pay range: $73,200.00–$117,800.00 annually.

What you will do

• Design, analyze, develop, and redesign heavy-duty vehicle components for new and existing vehicles.
• Prepare and review layouts, drawings, specifications, bills of material, technical proposals, reports, and presentations.
• Evaluate designs for performance, safety, reliability, cost effectiveness, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Select parts, components, and materials using analytical and mathematical models of system performance.
• Resolve engineering and production-support issues and communicate technical status to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with internal engineering and business teams, suppliers, customers, and external resources; mentor entry-level engineers, designers, and technicians.

Requirements

• Accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Three or more years of related engineering experience.
• Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.
• Experience with a high-level CAD system.
• Ability to work across office, field, and production environments, including standing, walking, moderate lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to varying temperatures or noise.
