Engineer Intern - Industrial (Summer 2027)

Location: Dodge Center, Minnesota, United States

Pay range: $18.00–$37.00 per hour

Company

McNeilus, an Oshkosh company, designs and manufactures refuse truck bodies, including rear-load, front-load, and automated side-load models.

What you will do

• Audit and update work instructions, routings, and bills of materials.
• Improve material handling, workstation layouts, cell productivity, and quality.
• Use Lean tools to solve real-time operations problems and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Develop methods for fabrication and machining processes.
• Provide technical support to production personnel and input on fixtures and tooling.
• Support ERP manufacturing software use and documentation for new product launches.

Requirements

• Student status throughout the entire internship while pursuing a bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Welding Engineering Technology, Industrial, Mechanical, or a related engineering field.
• Ability to work part time in Dodge Center, Minnesota.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Exposure to ERP systems such as JD Edwards.
• Experience in welding, machining, or fabrication.
• Exposure to cell or work-center layout, 2D/3D CAD, Lean, and 5S concepts.
