Cloud Software Engineer (Big Data Cloud)

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex Big Data Cloud systems based on documented requirements.
• Contribute to backend processing, data analysis, indexing, and Cloud Information Retrieval.
• Implement complex workflows for Cloud MapReduce analytics and code integrating distributed coordination frameworks.
• Review and test software components, document test results, and resolve software problem reports.
• Provide input on system design, hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, requirements analysis, and COTS/GOTS solutions.
• Oversee software development tasks and recommend improvements to documentation and development standards.

Requirements

• Eight years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, including two years with Big Data Cloud technologies or Distributed Computing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, with substitutions possible through relevant experience or a master’s degree.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with an appropriate current polygraph is required; ability to receive privileged access rights.
• Experience with Cloud Information Retrieval, Big Table, Distributed File Systems, MapReduce analytics, and distributed coordination frameworks.
• Experience with Java, object-oriented design, Maven, RESTful web services, Python, Bash, virtualization, multi-node management, and Linux/CentOS/Red Hat.
• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem technologies such as YARN, J2EE, Zookeeper, HDFS, HBase, JMS, concurrent programming, Lucene, Solr, MongoDB, XML, JSON, CSV, Avro, JVM profiling, and configuration management tools.

Nice to have

• Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer certification.
• Experience with SIGINT collection disciplines, geolocation, emitter identification, signal applications, and joint program collection platforms.
