Virtual Construction - Reality Capture Manager (Reality Capture)

Location: Falls Church, Virginia, United States. The role requires 50–75% field time on active construction sites, office-based planning and reporting, travel to project locations, and work in varying weather, dust, noise, uneven terrain, stairs, and ladders.

Base salary: $114,500–$159,500 per year. Compensation may vary in other cities and states.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise-wide adoption of reality capture technologies and create standardized operating procedures.
• Mentor 3–5 Reality Capture Associates in laser scanning, data processing, and emerging workflows.
• Establish quality-control protocols for captured project data and provide technical support to project teams.
• Evaluate AI-powered point-cloud analysis, new scanner platforms, and autonomous capture technologies, building business cases for adoption.
• Manage workflows and tools including NavVis, FARO, Leica Cyclone, DroneDeploy, OpenSpace, and ReCap Pro.
• Collaborate with BIM Coordination and Operations teams, manage equipment and vendor relationships, and present reality capture value to clients.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in BIM/VDC, surveying, or geospatial data management roles.
• Hands-on experience with 3D laser scanning, photogrammetry, and LiDAR, plus a strong understanding of surveying principles and coordinate systems.
• Ability to operate FARO, NavVis, and Leica laser scanners.
• Experience with ReCap Pro, FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone, NavVis, Revit, and Navisworks.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting construction documents, shop drawings, and other design communication tools.
• Curiosity about emerging technologies and a habit of staying current with industry trends.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to navigate active construction sites, lift equipment up to 50 lbs, and stand for extended periods during scans.

Nice to have

• Experience leading teams of 3 or more people.
• Familiarity with drone operations and FAA Part 107 certification.
• Background in data science or machine learning applications in construction.
• Experience piloting and implementing new technologies at scale.
• Expertise in Nvidia Omniverse and Digital Twin development.
• Experience with Gaussian Splatting and related immersive capture technologies.
