Virtual Construction - Reality Capture Manager (Reality Capture)

Location: Falls Church, Virginia, United States; 50–75% field time on active construction sites with travel to project locations

Base salary: $100,000–$145,000 per year, varying by city and state.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise-wide adoption of reality capture technologies and own the data lifecycle from field planning through actionable project insights.
• Create and implement standard operating procedures and quality-control protocols for reality capture across projects.
• Mentor 3–5 Reality Capture Associates and provide training and technical support to project teams.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-powered point-cloud analysis, new scanner platforms, and autonomous capture, and develop adoption business cases.
• Manage the reality capture toolkit, equipment inventory, vendor relationships, and collaboration with BIM Coordination and Operations teams.
• Present reality capture value propositions to clients and support new-work and client-retention efforts.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in BIM/VDC, surveying, or geospatial data management.
• Hands-on experience with 3D laser scanning, photogrammetry, LiDAR, surveying principles, and coordinate systems.
• Ability to operate FARO, NavVis, and Leica laser scanners.
• Experience with ReCap Pro, FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone, NavVis, Revit, and Navisworks.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, shop drawings, and design communication tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience; ability to navigate active sites and lift equipment up to 50 lbs.

Nice to have

• Experience leading teams of three or more people.
• Drone operations experience and FAA Part 107 certification.
• Data science or machine learning experience in construction.
• Experience implementing new technologies at scale.
• Experience with Nvidia Omniverse, digital twins, Gaussian Splatting, or immersive capture technologies.
