VDC Director (BIM)

Location: Remote in the United States; US work authorization required

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses

What you will do

• Define and advance an enterprise VDC strategy from preconstruction through delivery and operations.
• Turn ambiguous client needs into scoped, deliverable-driven engagements with teams, milestones, and quality checkpoints.
• Serve as senior sponsor for strategic client relationships and expand long-term partnerships.
• Own revenue, margins, utilization, forecasting, delivery efficiency, and quality across the VDC portfolio.
• Introduce emerging technologies, Lean principles, and delivery approaches that create measurable value.
• Lead managers, BIM specialists, and cross-functional teams while advising senior client stakeholders on technology-enabled transformation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in AECO BIM/VDC, including hands-on technical roles.
• Experience leading a VDC or BIM practice across multiple teams and client portfolios with accountability for revenue, margin, and utilization.
• Experience across the full project lifecycle, from design through construction and into operations, with an understanding of owners, designers, contractors, and facility teams.
• Experience turning vague problems into scoped engagements with clear outcomes during executive conversations with owners or general contractors.
• Experience building standards, playbooks, or delivery frameworks adopted and maintained by other teams.
• Ability to evaluate construction technology and data trends and advise clients on which changes to adopt.
• Ability to operate with strategic judgment, operational discipline, interpersonal influence, and resilience in a dynamic professional services environment.
