Complex Claims Director (Insurance)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; primarily office-based

What you will do

• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve new and existing third-party property and casualty claims, including multimillion-dollar cases.
• Determine coverage under Excess Commercial General Liability and automobile policies.
• Develop investigation strategies addressing liability, causation, damages, risk transfer, and contribution opportunities.
• Direct litigation strategy, attend mediations and trials, and negotiate settlements with attorneys and claimants.
• Manage litigation budgets and expenses in collaboration with defense counsel, coverage counsel, vendors, insureds, brokers, and underwriters.
• Document exposure evaluations and present claim disposition recommendations to senior management.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial or industry claims experience preferred.
• Advanced experience managing litigation claims, including alternative dispute resolution and mediation.
• Experience handling pre-suit, litigated, and post-trial cases at mediations and settlement conferences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong negotiation skills.
• Property and Casualty licenses required; licenses must be obtained within 6 months.
• Ability to work primarily in the office and communicate effectively with insureds, brokers, attorneys, underwriters, and claimants.
