Head of Physical Security & Safety - USDS

Location: Washington, D.C.; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days per week

Salary: $121,680–$241,920 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Define strategy, governance, policies, standards, and performance metrics for physical safety, workforce protection, and business resilience.
• Design and oversee converged security operations spanning physical security, technical security, cyber-investigations, campus monitoring, access control, and threat detection.
• Lead executive protection, travel safety, workplace violence prevention, event security, TSCM, investigations, crisis management, and emergency response programs.
• Partner with Legal, HR, Facilities, and Privacy teams and liaise with local, state, and federal law enforcement and counter-intelligence agencies.
• Manage budgets, vendors, contracts, and project milestones while leading a global team of security directors and practitioners.
• Evaluate threat intelligence and lead investigations into serious security breaches and criminal activity, briefing the Board and senior leadership.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in physical security, law enforcement, military service, or a combination, plus at least 5 years managing security and safety professionals and operational performance.
• Global corporate security experience, including support for senior executives.
• Demonstrated experience with physical security technology, guard force management, executive protection, and investigations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, interpersonal, strategic, tactical, and leadership skills.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage staff, operations, projects, and programs.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Washington, D.C. up to 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• BA or BS in criminal justice, homeland security, emergency management, business administration, organizational leadership, or a related field.
• Membership in ASIS, InfraGard, or another physical security professional group.
• Proficiency with task and project management, visitor management, case management, and other conventional business software.
