Network Security Engineer (Palo Alto)

Location: New York, NY, United States; domestic travel required up to 5%.

Salary: $129,293–$196,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Design, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and related network infrastructure.
• Develop network policies and procedures supporting availability, performance, and security.
• Monitor network security, support incident response, assess vulnerabilities, manage patches, and troubleshoot collaboratively.
• Plan network capacity, upgrades, migrations, and new solutions with minimal operational disruption.
• Configure and integrate WAN/LAN environments, including MPLS, SD-WAN, and cloud networks.
• Mentor junior network engineers on best practices and troubleshooting techniques.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Security, Computer Networking, Data Science, or a related field plus 1 year of related experience; or a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent plus 3 years of related experience.
• At least 1 year of experience designing and maintaining network telemetry with Prometheus, Grafana, Meraki exporters, and Palo Alto exporters.
• Experience monitoring link health, latency, jitter, and throughput across data-center and edge environments.
• Experience implementing hybrid-cloud connectivity with BGP, MPLS, and IPsec VPNs across AWS and on-premises environments.
• Experience with SNMP polling, syslog aggregation, Grafana dashboards, network topology visualization, and automated path tracing.
• Experience automating network configuration and monitoring with Python, Ansible, REST APIs, and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
