Senior Physical Security Manager (Fintech)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; quarterly travel required for meetings, training, or business needs.

Base salary: $160,000–$180,000 per year, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Build and scale the physical security program from its current informal state into a robust, technology-driven operation.
• Select and project-manage deployment of unified cloud-based access control and visitor management systems across five offices.
• Conduct physical security risk assessments and implement site hardening measures, including reinforced entrances and ballistic glass.
• Create emergency action plans and lead tabletop exercises and floor warden training for fire, life safety, and active threat scenarios.
• Establish protocols for protecting and securely destroying sensitive proprietary information and end-of-life IT hardware.
• Develop security awareness, anti-tailgating, executive protection, and threat assessment programs.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate security management, including building physical security programs from the ground up.
• Expertise in selecting, procuring, and implementing enterprise access control and video management systems integrated with HRIS and identity providers.
• Experience preparing physical security controls and evidence for SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS, or ISO 27001 audits.
• Strong threat assessment, executive protection, residential security, travel safety, and emergency response experience.
• Ability to manage security integrators and guarding providers, establish KPIs, and communicate physical risk and program ROI to senior leadership and the board.
• Willingness and ability to travel once per quarter.
