Software Engineer II (Embedded Systems)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for embedded systems and industrial controllers.
• Contribute to product architecture, design reviews, technical discussions, and software documentation.
• Support hardware integration, product testing, verification, and validation.
• Troubleshoot software and system issues during development, product launches, installation, and field support.
• Evaluate and implement AI/ML and data-driven solutions for diagnostics, predictive maintenance, automation, and operational performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 6–10 years of embedded software development experience in an industrial or regulated environment.
• At least 2 years of software development experience using C/C++.
• Experience with embedded systems or real-time operating systems and Linux-based operating systems.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, including debugging, testing, version control, Git, code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with machine learning, data analytics, or artificial intelligence applications.
• Experience implementing, integrating, or deploying AI/ML models or services.
• Experience with Python and AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or ONNX.
• Experience applying AI/ML to industrial automation, diagnostics, predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, or process optimization.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Microsoft Copilot.
