Embedded Software Engineer II (C/C++)

Location: On-site in Zeeland, Michigan, United States; not eligible for remote work.

What you will do

• Execute the full embedded software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and architecture through verification and validation.
• Design and implement features for embedded platforms, including camera, SoC, sensor, chipset, and driver bring-up.
• Develop algorithms, unit tests, integration tests, and embedded software implementations.
• Collaborate with Hardware, Mechanical, Product, Software Project Engineering, and Systems Engineering teams.
• Participate in code reviews, estimation, planning, process improvement, and software compliance activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and support candidate screening when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of technical experience across all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• High proficiency in C, C++, assembly languages, and real-time operating systems.
• In-depth knowledge of embedded systems and current knowledge of electronic components and systems.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, multitasking, adaptability, and collaboration skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment authorization is confirmed through E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Strong Linux experience and familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, JIRA, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with video, audio, signal processing, compression, camera development, or image signal processing.
• Experience with Wi-Fi and BLE.
• Familiarity with Agile processes, static analysis tools, code coverage metrics, and unit test generation.
