Senior Engineer II, Instrument & Control, Projects (Industrial Controls)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States. Regular U.S. position; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Base salary: $160,200–$195,800 per year.

What you will do

• Provide instrumentation and controls engineering support throughout project development, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and startup.
• Oversee EPC contractors and review project scope, design bases, execution strategies, and control system designs.
• Review deliverables for field instrumentation, DCS, PLC, SIS, control networks, logic, control narratives, drawings, datasheets, and commissioning packages.
• Support the specification, selection, technical evaluation, and compliance review of instruments, valves, control systems, and vendor packages.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, procurement, fabrication, construction, operations, and maintenance stakeholders.
• Support factory and site acceptance testing, MOC evaluations, lessons learned, and improvements to project quality and execution.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; temporary visa holders and candidates requiring current or future sponsorship are not eligible.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, instrumentation, chemical, mechanical, or related engineering.
• 10 or more years of petrochemical experience.
• Experience with industrial instrumentation and control systems in refining or similar process industries.
• Working knowledge of DCS, SIS, PLC-based systems, control narratives, logic diagrams, cause-and-effect documentation, and control network diagrams.
• Experience supporting capital, maintenance, or turnaround projects and coordinating across multiple functions.

Nice to have

• Experience with EPC contractors, vendors, third-party engineering firms, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience with distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, and HMI graphics.
• Experience working for or with a Main Automation Contractor.
