TL;DR
Sr. Spring Probe & Contact Development Engineer (Spring Probes and Contact Technologies): Designing and developing advanced spring probes, stamped and formed contacts, and new contact technologies from concept through manufacturing and customer evaluation with an accent on engineering mechanics, materials, manufacturing methods, and simulation. Focus on preliminary thermal and structural FEA, signal integrity analysis, technical guidance, design documentation, and patent applications.

Location: Irving, Texas, United States; onsite position with up to 20% travel.

What you will do

  • Act as a subject matter expert for spring probes, stamped and formed contacts, and related contact technologies.
  • Research new materials, technologies, and applications for contact products.
  • Develop spring probes and contacts from initial concept through design, manufacturing, and customer evaluation.
  • Perform preliminary engineering analysis and simulations, including thermal, structural FEA, fluid, and signal integrity simulations.
  • Provide technical support, training, engineering guidelines, and advice to design, development, and other groups.
  • Support task forces, EHS programs, and patent applications for intellectual property protection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Over 15 years of experience with spring probes, contact technologies, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of engineering mechanics, physics, manufacturing methods, GD&T, and ANSI/ASME standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, and equivalent design software.
  • Ability to conduct engineering analysis and simulations and communicate technical guidance effectively.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Six Sigma or equivalent tools and FMEA.
  • Strong experience with structural, thermal, or fluid finite element analysis.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor or related industries.
