Remote Power Specialist (Power Generation)

What you will do

• Monitor real-time performance of power generation equipment to support field operations and maintain equipment availability.
• Use monitoring and data acquisition systems to identify equipment issues, performance trends, and potential failures.
• Coordinate with field operations, maintenance, and engineering resources to resolve issues and reduce operational downtime.
• Track equipment metrics, maintain reliability dashboards and status reports, and communicate recurring issues and trends.
• Support root cause analysis by gathering operational data, documenting findings, and assisting with corrective actions.
• Recommend improvements to monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation, and operational support processes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in field operations, preferably in power generation.
• Familiarity with Cat G3520 reciprocating generator packages and Solar SMT turbine generator packages.
• Knowledge of electrical, controls, and gas interfaces, as well as power distribution and transformation equipment.
• Experience supporting AC systems up to 15 kV and DC systems up to 120 V.
• Experience with Power BI, Grafana, Sophia, multi-generator controller visualization platforms, and Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to support root cause analysis and corrective actions; detail-oriented, process-driven, collaborative, responsive, and action-oriented.
