Electrical Engineer (Oil & Gas)

Location: Remote within the United States, with on-site meetings and project-site work nationwide; initial work site in Washington, DC

What you will do

• Provide independent engineering advisory support for DOE Energy Dominance Financing technical due diligence, credit evaluation, lifecycle monitoring, and assurance activities.
• Review electrical systems, power distribution, backup power, load analysis, protection, reliability, and code compliance for oil and gas, power, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
• Review project documentation and data rooms, validate assumptions, evaluate technical and commercial interfaces, and identify risks and mitigations.
• Prepare single-line reviews, load studies, protection coordination assessments, electrical inspections, system performance reports, and lender-ready Independent Engineer deliverables.
• Support conditions-precedent, disbursement-readiness, construction monitoring, certification, draw-package, and issue-closure reviews.
• Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project-controls stakeholders to support DOE and lender decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of relevant engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy-infrastructure advisory experience.
• Experience with oil and gas, power, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects for owners, lenders, independent engineers, or federal clients.
• Knowledge of technical due diligence, risk assessment, electrical systems, power distribution, protection, reliability, code compliance, and DOE/LPO-style documentation.
• Strong report-writing, Excel-based analysis, stakeholder-coordination, technical judgment, and documentation skills.
• Must be able to work remotely within the United States and attend on-site meetings or project-site activities nationwide.

Nice to have

• PE, PMP, CSP, API, NACE/AMPP, PMI, or other discipline-specific credentials.
• Experience supporting federal clients, DOE, lenders, or independent engineering engagements.
