What you will do
- Provide hands-on engineering support to off-shift manufacturing operations.
- Troubleshoot automated tooling and equipment issues to help reduce production downtime.
- Prepare vehicle layouts, component drawings, bills of material, and assembly drawings.
- Perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and reporting under close supervision.
- Select and design components with attention to cost and quality.
- Support assembly-floor projects, prototype builds, engineering changes, and new product introductions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing or production environment with production, maintenance, controls, and engineering teams.
- Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work the 2nd shift and meet changing start and end times based on operational needs.
- Ability to work around loud noise, dust, moving machinery, temperature fluctuations, and physical activities including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Nice to have
- Internship, co-op, or hands-on experience in manufacturing, automation, controls, or a related engineering environment.
- Exposure to automated manufacturing equipment and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with PLCs, control systems, robotics, sensors, or other industrial automation technologies.
- Experience with CAD, 3D modeling, 3D printing, additive manufacturing, or tooling design.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
