Consultant, Operational Excellence (Fintech)

Location: New York City, with a hybrid work model. Positions in Scottsdale, San Francisco, Chicago, or New York follow a hybrid schedule. Must be independently eligible to work in the United States for any employer; visa sponsorship is not available.

Base pay in New York, NY and San Francisco, CA: $120,000–$156,000 USD per year, plus discretionary incentive eligibility and benefits.

What you will do

• Support process efficiency, optimization, and operational transformation initiatives across business domains.
• Assess current-state processes, facilitate stakeholder workshops, and identify inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate workstreams, analyses, deliverables, implementation activities, and change management efforts.
• Develop future-state process designs and data-driven recommendations aligned with strategic objectives.
• Track KPIs and measure process effectiveness, efficiency gains, and initiative outcomes.
• Support automation, AI, and digital solution initiatives through requirements gathering, use-case documentation, testing, and rollout.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in management consulting, business process improvement, operational excellence, or internal consulting within financial services.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• Experience leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives with measurable impact.
• Knowledge of process improvement frameworks such as DMAIC, Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
• Experience with change management, executive stakeholder management, communication, influencing, and negotiation.
• Background and drug screen required; U.S. employment eligibility required.

Nice to have

• 2+ years at a management consulting firm such as MBB, Big Four, or similar.
• Experience in payments, risk insights, digital identity, banking, fintech, or the broader financial services ecosystem.
• PowerPoint fluency and experience with BI tools and advanced analytics.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification.
