Managing Consultant (Financial Services)

What you will do

• Build and lead Operational Excellence and Process Improvement capabilities for financial services clients, particularly banking and wealth and asset management.
• Develop a pipeline of opportunities and contribute to commercially strong proposals that address individual client needs.
• Lead and oversee operational excellence and improvement implementation programmes, including governance of teams and delivery engagements.
• Deliver process design and optimisation, service optimisation, digitisation, automation, and operational performance improvements.
• Lead large and diverse project teams, influence senior stakeholders, and coach and mentor colleagues.
• Achieve measurable business benefits, client satisfaction, follow-on projects, extensions, and referrals.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in operational excellence and process improvement across front-, middle-, and back-office services.
• Experience leading consulting assignments, delivery engagements, programmes, and large project teams.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, Lean or Kaizen, process redesign and governance, digitisation, automation, change management, and technology delivery.
• Understanding of consulting structures, frameworks, financial principles, end-to-end transformation programmes, commercial scoping, pricing, planning, and programme governance.
• Strong financial services industry knowledge, including process automation, AI/ML automation, customer journey redesign, risk and compliance, data governance, cost optimisation, core banking modernisation, operational resilience, and workforce transformation.
• Strong engagement leadership, stakeholder management, business development, communication, collaboration, and team motivation skills.

Nice to have

• Prior consulting experience with a large consultancy firm or internal consultancy function.
• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile delivery certification.
