Production Supervisor (Manufacturing)

Location: Bethany, Connecticut, United States; onsite, second shift

What you will do

• Supervise production lines, review raw-material and silo levels, and resolve schedule issues with the Planner.
• Ensure employees have the required tools, work orders, and personal protective equipment while maintaining site housekeeping.
• Lead shift meetings, prepare handoff materials, and communicate productivity, downtime, and quality summaries.
• Coordinate quality control by checking formulas and material expiration, collecting samples, adjusting batches, and verifying specifications.
• Escalate equipment and material shortages, failures, maintenance needs, and repair requirements.
• Lead, train, develop, and evaluate plant staff while allocating work and addressing performance, safety, and compliance matters.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of plant experience.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical weight calculations for formulas and interpret directions and order details.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with plant equipment or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using an ERP system, preferably JD Edwards.
• Associate degree or equivalent work experience; ability to pass a pre-employment physical and perform the listed physical duties.
