R&D Technician

What you will do

• Prepare formulations and perform physical testing on experimental and standard products.
• Record and report test results using approved procedures.
• Maintain clean, efficient laboratory operations and properly functioning testing equipment.
• Follow chemical hazard and laboratory safety procedures.
• Protect batching and formula sheets and restrict access to authorized personnel.
• Suggest improved performance tests and methods and complete technical projects assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in a research laboratory, or at least 1 year in a construction materials laboratory.
• Exposure to quality control and laboratory environments.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, analytical ability, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to bend and reach for filing and occasionally lift or move at least 50 pounds.
• High school diploma required; an associate degree in science is preferred.
