Lead AI Fullstack Software Engineer (Investments Technology)

Location: Washington, D.C., with split onsite hybrid work between Baltimore and Washington, D.C.; up to three days per week from home

Base salary for Washington, D.C.: $159,000–$272,000 annually. Employees may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of production-grade agentic AI systems for the investment lifecycle.
• Provide technical mentorship and oversight to engineering squads across Investments, Investments Technology, and TRP Labs.
• Build agent-driven workflows for investment research, quantitative analysis, portfolio management, and trading.
• Establish technical standards, architectural patterns, governance frameworks, and engineering practices for responsible AI scaling.
• Oversee agent orchestration, prompt engineering, real-time data-driven automation, and AI platform improvements.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate strategic needs into scalable technology solutions and measurable business value.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of progressive professional development experience in object-oriented languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, including leadership of engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience architecting and delivering cloud-native solutions with AWS or Azure, containerized microservices, and agent frameworks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills.
• Experience establishing standards for automated testing, code reviews, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
• FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Nice to have

• Production experience building LLM-powered or agent-based systems.
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, MCP servers, agent orchestration frameworks, prompt evaluation, model benchmarking, and performance testing.
• Experience with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, AWS Kiro, or OpenAI Codex.
• Background in asset management, financial markets, quantitative research, financial instruments, or financial datasets.
