Principal AI Engineer

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, deployment, and ownership of production-grade generative AI capabilities on Azure AI Foundry.
• Build secure, scalable AI applications using LLMs from Anthropic, OpenAI, and other providers, including RAG, agents, tool use, orchestration, and NLP-to-SQL patterns.
• Architect structured and unstructured data pipelines from banking systems, vendor platforms, external feeds, APIs, and cloud environments for AI and ML use cases.
• Establish semantic architecture, metadata management, data lineage, audit trails, governance, and enterprise data integration standards.
• Lead delivery priorities, vendor and procurement coordination, regulatory reviews, and collaboration with data scientists, model risk, cybersecurity, compliance, and business teams.
• Mentor engineers, product managers, and architects while scaling the AI and AI data integration practice.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering or data integration, preferably in financial services or banking.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, PostgreSQL, data integration tools, cloud platforms, and container architecture.
• Hands-on experience building production-grade LLM or generative AI applications and using Anthropic or OpenAI APIs.
• Knowledge of financial data, asset management, data governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, REST APIs, and vector databases.

Nice to have

• Experience with PGVector, Pinecone, Neo4j, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, FactSet, Aladdin, Eagle, or iCapital.
• Experience with Oracle, Exadata, Snowflake, Databricks, .NET/C#, React, Java, Unix/BASH, Windows, or Linux.
