AI Engineer (Agentic AI)

Location: Hybrid position based in the Houston, TX; Woodland Hills, CA; or Jersey City, NJ offices. Up to 25% travel may be required.

Salary: $122,000–$148,000 annually at commencement for the Jersey City, NJ and Woodland Hills, CA area. The position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, and optimize machine learning and generative AI solutions for business use cases.
• Build and orchestrate intelligent agents and multi-step workflows using foundation models, reasoning chains, tool use, and agent architectures.
• Define agent capabilities and autonomous decision-making boundaries while managing expectations around reliability.
• Design prompts, personas, tool descriptions, reasoning scaffolds, benchmarks, and automated evaluations for agent accuracy, reliability, and safety.
• Integrate AI agents with enterprise systems, APIs, tools, data platforms, and structured or unstructured data.
• Monitor deployed models and agents, implement feedback and retraining strategies, mentor Data Scientists, and document technical designs and architectures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in AI/ML, data science, or applied AI engineering.
• Strong Python programming skills and solid knowledge of machine learning fundamentals and evaluation techniques.
• Experience with prompt engineering, large language models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures, APIs, and AI application integration.
• Familiarity with orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or similar tools.
• Ability to work from one of the specified U.S. offices under the hybrid working policy.

Nice to have

• Experience with Amazon SageMaker, Bedrock, Bedrock Guardrails, Knowledge Bases, or Amazon AgentCore.
• Experience designing multi-agent systems, tool-using agents, and autonomous workflows.
• Experience with AWS cloud platforms and MLOps practices, including Docker, CI/CD, and model monitoring.
