Substance Abuse Counselor (Behavioral Health)

Pay: $26 per hour plus a bonus structure

What you will do

• Provide individual and group counseling for patients recovering from drug and alcohol disorders.
• Guide new and returning patients through intake and orientation.
• Develop, update, and maintain individualized treatment plans and patient records.
• Connect patients with community resources, follow up on referrals, and coordinate ongoing support.
• Assess patients’ social, educational, economic, and vocational needs.
• Respond compassionately to crisis situations and comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

• Meet state-level requirements.
• Hold one of the following credentials: MAADC I, MAADC II, CADC, CRADC, LMSW, LCSW, or LPC.
• Work on-site from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Be prepared for a fast-paced clinical environment involving patients with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, infectious diseases, and criminal justice involvement.
• Perform prolonged standing, bending, stooping, alternating sitting and standing, frequent keyboarding, and use PPE when required.

Nice to have

• Behavioral health experience.
• Knowledge of substance abuse populations, treatment planning, and human social services.
• Sound judgment when handling confidential and sensitive situations.
