TL;DR
IOP Counselor (LPCC, LPC, LMFT, LSW, LCSW): Delivering intensive outpatient counseling for patients with substance use disorders through assessments, treatment planning, individual and group sessions, with an accent on ASAM Level 2.1 care, evidence-based curricula, and multidisciplinary support. Focus on conducting admissions, developing compliant clinical documentation, building patient engagement, and providing Matrix Model, Seeking Safety, and CBT sessions.

Location: On-site in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Salary: $35–$44 per hour plus bonus structure

What you will do

  • Conduct admissions using ASAM criteria and determine appropriate placement into the IOP program at ASAM Level 2.1.
  • Provide individual and group counseling, crisis support, motivational enhancement, and evidence-based treatment services.
  • Deliver at least three hours of IOP curriculum four days per week using the Matrix Model, Seeking Safety, and CBT.
  • Develop assessments, treatment plans, referrals, and other clinical documentation that meets regulatory, billing, and authorization requirements.
  • Coordinate with clinical teams, case managers, medical staff, billing teams, and recovery care professionals to support patient engagement and continuity of care.
  • Build relationships with referral partners and community organizations while contributing to IOP program development and outreach.

Requirements

  • On-site attendance in Fort Collins, Colorado, is required.
  • Active licensure or certification is required: MFTC, LPCC, LAC, LCSW, LSW, LMFT, or LPC.
  • Knowledge of substance use disorders, treatment planning, human behavior, and social services.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, judgment, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure, handle confidential matters, and respond effectively in stressful situations.
  • Commitment to inclusive care and to treating addiction as a brain disease rather than a moral failing.
