TL;DR
Crisis Clinician Lead (Behavioral Health): Providing telephonic crisis screening, assessment, intervention, de-escalation, and care planning for members with complex psychiatric, substance abuse, and medical needs with an accent on clinical judgment, case management, and coordination with providers. Focus on handling complex crisis cases, guiding non-clinical call takers, monitoring call operations, and evaluating and modifying member care plans.

Location: Virtual full-time role for candidates who are licensed and live in Massachusetts; required in-person training sessions and a reasonable commuting distance from Boston or Woburn are required. Shift: Thursday–Monday, 2:00pm–10:30pm EST. Initial training takes place during a separate day-shift schedule for 3–4 weeks.

Salary: $82,192–$128,892 per year.

What you will do

  • Handle crisis calls, screen and assess callers, and provide telephonic intervention, active listening, rapport-building, and de-escalation.
  • Lead shifts in the absence of managers and provide clinical guidance and recommendations to non-clinical call takers.
  • Monitor call volumes, staff availability, and call statuses.
  • Assess member needs, develop individualized care plans, and monitor and modify plans as needed.
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources and healthcare providers to support access to quality, cost-effective care.
  • Support Clinical & Referral Specialists, operational processes, complex cases, and cross-functional projects.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related behavioral health field, or a nursing degree, with at least 4 years of relevant clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current, active, unrestricted professional license and Massachusetts residence are required. Accepted licenses may include RN, LCSW, LMHC, LICSW, LPC, LMFT, LMSW, or Clinical Psychologist, subject to applicable laws.
  • Experience with complex psychiatric, substance abuse, substance use disorder, or medical cases is required.
  • Experience in case management and telephonic or in-person member coaching is required.
  • Managed care experience is required.

Nice to have

  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification.
  • Call center experience.
  • Crisis-related experience.
