Senior Permitting Manager (Renewable Energy)

Location: New York, NY, United States; occasional travel required

Annual base salary: $120,000–$145,000, plus variable compensation and benefits

What you will do

• Lead and advise on permitting matters across the renewable energy development portfolio.
• Provide environmental expertise and support compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Support due diligence related to environmental permitting, project siting, and approvals.
• Drive environmental assessments, including Section 7 and Section 106 consultations, local discretionary permits, and state siting approvals.
• Coordinate with external consultants to execute permitting strategies within project timelines and financial objectives.
• Assess and communicate environmental risks and recommend cost-effective solutions to internal and external decision-makers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least five years of experience in environmental consulting or permitting required.
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and project management skills.
• Academic or professional achievement demonstrating strong performance.

Nice to have

• Experience in consulting and renewable energy.
• Degree in environmental studies, biology, or a related field.
