Staff Engineer - Power & Renewables

Location: Bloomington, Minnesota, United States. The role offers flexibility to work from home or in an office environment and requires up to 15% travel.

Compensation: $73,000–$109,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop scopes of work and proposals for moderate to complex geotechnical engineering projects in the power and renewables sector.
• Review field logs and soil samples, classify materials, and prepare boring logs.
• Perform engineering analyses using company and industry methodologies and prepare reports for senior review.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, safety, staffing, and client expectations.
• Review assigned staff’s work, investigate quality issues, and coordinate resources with regional operations.
• Support client relationships, field testing, observations, technician training, and renewables market initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a time-critical, dynamic environment.
• Ability to create, maintain, and communicate project budgets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 15% of the time.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of construction materials testing or geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience with large-scale construction projects.
