Location: Full-time with regular office presence in San Diego, California, or Edison, New Jersey; remote from Dallas, Texas, or Denver, Colorado. Up to 40% travel is required. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
Salary: $150,080–$187,600 per year

What you will do
- Own the enterprise permitting strategy, standards, processes, playbooks, KPIs, and reporting across project types and regions.
- Build, lead, and develop Regional Permitting Managers while defining regional coverage, workload allocation, and staffing plans.
- Resolve complex, high-stakes, and politically sensitive permitting matters and lead negotiations with federal, state, and local authorities having jurisdiction.
- Maintain executive-level relationships with regulatory agencies, government officials, clients, and community stakeholders.
- Provide permitting due diligence, risk assessment, entitlement consulting, contract support, and client-facing guidance during pursuits and preconstruction.
- Coordinate permitting requirements, schedules, risks, budgets, and cost recovery with Engineering, Preconstruction, Scheduling, Estimating, Operations, Legal, and Finance.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in renewable energy or EPC construction, with significant utility-scale project permitting experience.
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience managing permitting teams and programs at scale.
- Demonstrated success building and leading regional or national permitting functions.
- Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local authority requirements across multiple U.S. geographies.
- Executive-level relationship management experience with regulatory agencies, government officials, and clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies, Construction Management, Planning, or a related field preferred.
