Professional Engineer / Project Manager - Traffic Engineering

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States; hybrid work with in-office attendance Tuesday through Thursday and work-from-home on Monday and Friday.

Salary: $94,900–$121,600 per year.

What you will do

• Lead traffic-related design and plan development for roundabouts, traffic signals, construction staging, maintenance of traffic, signing, striping, and lighting.
• Perform traffic analyses using simulation and modeling software.
• Develop plans, specifications, reports, communications, and cost estimates.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Supervise design and technical development and lead meetings with clients, internal teams, and governing agencies.
• Support business development by tracking opportunities, preparing proposals, shaping marketing plans, and presenting consulting services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer registration in the State of Wisconsin.
• 5–10 years of related transportation experience, including at least 3 years managing multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience designing or developing plans for traffic infrastructure, including roundabouts, signals, staging, maintenance of traffic, signing, striping, and lighting.
• Strong working knowledge of CADD software such as MicroStation or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
• Authorization to work in the United States for any employer without current or future visa sponsorship. Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and technical documentation skills are also required.

Nice to have

• PTOE certification or interest in obtaining it.
• Design-Build experience and experience evaluating transportation system and corridor alternatives.
• Experience with traffic operations analysis, forecasting, and modeling.
• Knowledge of Synchro/SimTraffic or VISSIM.
• Professional registration in two or more states.
