Solar & BESS Technician II

Location: US, Adelanto, California; field work at utility-scale solar energy sites in California's Central Valley and Kern County, with travel to sites outside the typical area.

Salary: $35.00–$42.08 per hour, plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency operations and maintenance for utility-scale solar energy plants.
• Maintain Fluence or comparable battery systems, AE and SMA inverters, DC combiner boxes, and tracker systems.
• Perform high-, medium-, and low-voltage switching and other technical and administrative power-facility duties.
• Work independently and as part of field crews while supporting reliable plant operations.
• Follow environmental and safety requirements when working around energized and rotating equipment, hazardous materials, heights, and changing weather conditions.
• Work overtime and non-standard hours when required and travel to additional sites.

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent journeyman qualifications.
• At least three years of PV O&M solar technician experience, or at least five years of power plant experience combined with at least one year of PV solar O&M or construction experience.
• Knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals, including electrical measurements, control circuits, and solid-state theory.
• Basic knowledge of power-facility equipment and associated control devices.
• Experience with electrical or construction projects, highly technical equipment, engineering, and standard business software.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English; ability to work outdoors, at heights, around energized equipment, and with required personal protective equipment.
