Solar & BESS Technician II

Location: Onsite in Lancaster, California, United States. The role involves outdoor plant work, work at heights, exposure to variable temperatures and humidity, shift and on-call work, emergency outages, overtime, and travel to nearby sites.

Salary: $35.00–$42.08 per hour, depending on experience, location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Annual bonus may also apply.

What you will do

• Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations on solar and battery energy storage equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems, perform insulation testing, and complete high-, medium-, and low-voltage switching.
• Work with EPC and Sungrow inverters, CATL and Samsung batteries, Fluence interfaces, ATI trackers, and vendor software portals.
• Carry out technical and administrative duties associated with operating and maintaining a power facility.
• Perform work independently or as part of field crews while following environmental and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent journeyman qualifications.
• At least three years of experience as a PV operations and maintenance solar technician, or at least five years of power-plant experience including one year of PV solar O&M or construction experience.
• Knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals, including electrical measurements, control circuits, and solid-state theory.
• Basic knowledge of power-facility equipment and associated control devices.
• Hands-on technical skills, proficiency with standard business software, and the ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to work onsite in Lancaster, California, including around energized equipment, hazardous materials, heights, and required personal protective equipment.
