Director of Compliance (Healthcare)

Location: Remote within the United States; occasional travel required.

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year, plus benefits and stock options.

What you will do

• Own the compliance program end to end, including policies, enforcement, monitoring, reporting, risk assessments, audits, and investigations.
• Maintain the compliance policy and procedure library and promote a culture of compliance and ethics.
• Own the company’s SOC 2 attestation, customer and partner security assessments, and related certifications in partnership with Engineering and IT.
• Lead customer- and partner-facing compliance discussions, data-sharing impact assessments, and internal enablement on requirements.
• Manage policies, approval workflows, and the contracts database for Business Associate Agreements and Third-Party/Data Use Agreements.
• Advise on sensitive data and patient PHI/PII protection, including HIPAA and state breach determination and notification processes.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in compliance, privacy, or commercial regulatory roles; in-house biopharma or pharma-services experience is strongly preferred.
• Expert knowledge of HIPAA, SOC 2, and CCPA/CPRA, with working familiarity with GDPR and relevant pharmaceutical industry codes and guidelines.
• Demonstrated ownership of SOC 2 attestations, customer security assessments, Business Associate Agreements, and Third-Party/Data Use Agreements.
• Strong judgment, analytical and project-management skills, discretion, writing ability, and executive communication skills.
• Ability to advise customers, partners, and leadership and translate compliance, privacy, and security risks into actionable business recommendations.
• Bachelor’s degree required; the role is primarily remote within the United States with occasional travel.

Nice to have

• Experience in specialty pharmacy, biopharma, life-sciences data, product, or data-platform environments.
• Familiarity with HITRUST and broader information-security frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as CHC, CHPC, or CIPP/US.
