CNC Operator – Multi-Axis Machining

hirify.global designs and manufactures advanced Autonomous Underwater Vehicles that combine electro-mechanical systems, high-precision sensors, and software for underwater exploration and defense applications.

What you will do

• Operate 5-axis mills, mill-turn equipment, and lathes for production and R&D components.
• Load and unload parts, manage workholding setups, and execute established CNC programs using setup documentation.
• Perform in-process inspections of critical features with manual metrology tools and monitor machining quality.
• Deburr, break edges, clean, and hand-finish precision-machined parts.
• Identify and escalate out-of-tolerance conditions, process instability, and drawing ambiguities.
• Maintain coolant levels, manage chips, perform basic machine maintenance, keep the shop organized, and provide feedback for process improvement.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of CNC machining or operator experience.
• Experience working with tight-tolerance hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and basic GD&T.
• Strong familiarity with precision measurement tools.
• High attention to detail and consistent adherence to established processes.
• Willingness to perform general shop support tasks and stop production to escalate issues when necessary.

Nice to have

• Experience with 4-axis or 5-axis machining.
• Familiarity with Fanuc CNC controls.
• Experience in production environments.
• Exposure to in-process probing or inspection methods.
• Basic understanding of tool-life management and tool-wear patterns.
