Automation Engineer Specialist

Employee-owned distributor serving electrical, automation, pipe, valve, fitting, steam, lighting, industrial controls, and instrumentation markets through eight divisions and more than 75 locations.

What you will do

• Provide technical sales support for controllers, I/O, HMIs, safety devices, networks, motion control, VFDs, motor controls, motors, gearboxes, actuators, and couplings.
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop business and close automation opportunities.
• Create bills of materials for quotations, process orders, and support customer service activities.
• Help customers select product solutions for applications and projects.
• Resolve post-sale technical questions, application issues, and commercial situations.
• Coordinate with manufacturing partners, support annual planning, and maintain service standards.

Requirements

• At least two years of hands-on electrical and mechanical knowledge and experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, networks, safety systems, motion control, VFDs, and other automation equipment.
• Understanding of manufacturing machinery, processes, networks, and analytics.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to design control systems and equipment with others, solve problems analytically, collaborate cross-functionally, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work in office, warehouse, and fabrication environments and operate a vehicle.

Nice to have

• Two years of industrial distribution experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a technology degree or certificate, or equivalent training and experience.
