Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Remote work is available only from the United States, specifically from CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, ME, NC, NJ, NY, OR, OH, TN, TX, VA, or WA. Hybrid work is available through offices in Austin, Texas, and Tampa, Florida. Onsite interviews may be required. Hiring within the city limits of Chicago is not available.

Salary: $140,000–$200,000 per year for roles based in California, Colorado, New Jersey, Washington, or New York.

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable solutions and product improvements for the IT Operations product suite.
• Develop high-availability services supporting millions of endpoints and servers in AWS.
• Build large-scale software applications using Java and Kotlin.
• Commit production code, apply design patterns, and solve enterprise-level software challenges.
• Maintain quality standards and contribute to quality-first engineering practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of Java software development experience for product applications or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience with highly scalable software systems.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, scalable data structures, relational database design, and REST API development.
• Experience with client- and server-side development, responsive messaging, caching systems, and Redis.
• Expert knowledge of software quality testing practices.

Nice to have

• Strong Kotlin expertise.
• Experience with Jersey or Spring.
