Vice President AI Engineering

Location: New York, United States

Salary: $109,000–$142,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Build and lead a high-performing team developing a scalable conversational AI platform and supporting infrastructure.
• Architect and implement generative AI systems using LLMs, semantic search, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Design multimodal text, voice, and vision interactions with strong performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Lead the evaluation and integration of LLMs, inference frameworks, continuous-learning systems, and conversational feedback loops.
• Establish engineering standards, experimentation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and responsible AI practices.
• Partner with research, product, design, data, cloud, and security teams while managing vendors, partnerships, and cloud optimization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software or AI engineering experience, including oversight of large-scale AI systems.
• Expertise deploying and optimizing large language models and multi-agent architectures.
• Hands-on knowledge of cloud-native AI infrastructure and distributed inference pipelines using Azure or GCP.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, Langflow, or comparable frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of data engineering, model evaluation, MLOps, system observability, conversational AI, dialog management, and human-in-the-loop design.
• Demonstrated success building and mentoring diverse AI and engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical discipline.
