Senior AI Engineer – AI Platform

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days per week at CNBC Headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, United States

Salary: USD 140,000–175,000 yearly

hirify.global is a publicly traded media company whose CNBC business is building AI-powered equity research products for individual investors.

What you will do

• Build and operate distributed agentic AI workflows and scalable production systems.
• Design retrieval, reranking, RAG, model integration, and evaluation components.
• Own complex AI platform features and subsystems from architecture through deployment and operations.
• Integrate AI capabilities into products and data pipelines in collaboration with engineering, product, analysts, and investors.
• Maintain observability and operational health through cost and quality monitoring, drift detection, alerting, and incident response.
• Identify and mitigate performance, bias, alignment, and operational risks while improving model lifecycle and evaluation frameworks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
• Strong backend programming skills in Python and at least one strongly typed language, preferably TypeScript.
• Experience designing and deploying LLM or GenAI systems, including prompting, tool use, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and evaluation.
• Experience with cloud computing, especially AWS, distributed systems, scalable data pipelines, observability, and incident response.
• Ability to lead technical projects end-to-end, work independently in ambiguous environments, communicate complex concepts clearly, and demonstrate interest in financial markets, investing, or business analysis.

Nice to have

• Experience with LangChain, Mastra, or LangGraph.
• Experience fine-tuning or adapting models for specific tasks.
• Experience implementing human-in-the-loop evaluation workflows and maintaining evaluation suites for agentic systems.
