Controller (SaaS)

Location: South San Francisco, California, United States; hybrid schedule with 2 days per week in the South San Francisco office

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and month-, quarter-, and year-end close activities.
• Manage revenue recognition for recurring and services revenue under ASC 606/IFRS 15.
• Own the billing and contract-to-revenue lifecycle in partnership with Revenue Operations and Legal.
• Develop internal controls, scalable finance processes, reconciliations, and continuous improvements.
• Manage NetSuite, Bill, finance-system integrations, external audit and tax providers, and compliance activities.
• Lead the transition out of the PEO and supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team.

Requirements

• Based in the San Francisco area and able to work hybrid from the South San Francisco office 2 days per week.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
• Experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager in SaaS or recurring-revenue businesses; PE-backed experience preferred.
• Mastery of NetSuite, Bill, and related accounting and finance systems.
• Deep technical knowledge of ASC 606/IFRS 15, complex contracting, invoicing, and revenue recognition.
• Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, communication, and financial-reporting skills.
