Project Manager / Asbestos Investigator

Location: New York, New York; work is based in the New York office with travel throughout the tri-state area and potential broader travel.

Salary: USD $95,305.60–$104,000 per year, plus potential discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Perform asbestos and other hazardous building material inspections.
• Conduct indoor air quality inspections and water intrusion investigations and assessments.
• Oversee and coordinate asbestos abatement projects with contractors.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate industrial hygiene equipment and sampling instruments.
• Collect regulatory samples, maintain chain-of-custody documentation, and prepare laboratory shipments.
• Maintain project logs, interpret specifications and drawings, communicate with clients and regulators, and prepare final reports.

Requirements

• 1–5 years of experience in hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, or industrial hygiene.
• NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator and NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector licenses are required.
• Prior experience with asbestos abatement projects.
• Ability to read project specifications and drawings and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory representatives.
• Ability to carry equipment, climb ladders, use hand and power tools, and wear respirators, safety harnesses, and other protective equipment.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass drug, background, motor vehicle records, and physical checks.

Nice to have

• NYSDOL Asbestos Management Planner, Project Designer, Air Sampling Technician, or Project Monitor credentials.
• NYSDOL Mold Assessor, USEPA Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor, HAZWOPER, OSHA 30, or 4-Hour Scaffold Training certifications.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
