Senior Systems Integration Engineer (Rail)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 138,000–188,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead client and design-team management for commuter, shortline, freight, transit, and Class 1 rail projects.
• Apply systems integration principles, including requirements management and interface management.
• Develop and apportion system-wide operational and technical requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering groups to resolve complex integration challenges across rail systems and infrastructure.
• Coordinate planning and environmental processes and manage plans, specifications, and construction estimate packages.
• Lead project teams, act as a high-level client contact, and serve as Project Manager on larger projects when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• At least 10 years of railway engineering experience, including management of complex multidisciplinary railway projects.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position’s location, such as a P.Eng. license.
• Experience with systems integration, interface management, and requirements management.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRail Designer or OpenRoads Designer, and/or AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Ability to lead railway project teams and communicate technical information to clients and the public.

Nice to have

• Experience with DOORS NG and familiarity with the ISO 15288 standard.
• Experience working on large, multidisciplinary projects.
• Engineering background in civil, mechanical, environmental, systems, industrial, or mechatronics engineering.
