Business Field Technician (Fiber)

Location: Sherman, Texas, United States; field work is performed at residential and business customer properties in all weather conditions.

What you will do

• Install customer service drops and outlets at residential and business properties.
• Work with EPON, fiber, switches, Ethernet, and WiFi access points.
• Use electronic test equipment and online diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair reception and connectivity issues.
• Verify upstream and downstream signal levels at customer-premises terminations.
• Recommend service upgrades and educate customers on new and existing equipment.
• Respond to customer requests while maintaining safety, efficiency, and service quality.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license in the state of application and a good driving record.
• Ability to learn and use RF meters, digital meters, Volt-Ohm meters, and related diagnostic equipment.
• At least 3 months of customer service or related experience and/or training.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in confined areas, lift up to 80 lbs., climb ladders, and work in all weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work overtime and on-call shifts as needed; regular and predictable attendance is required.
