Field Service Technician (Construction Technology & Infrastructure)

Location: South Bend, Indiana 46628; on-site work at active construction job sites. Frequent nationwide and regional travel, overnight stays, and short periods away from home are required.

Salary: $62,400–$72,800 per year

What you will do

• Install and deploy workstations, servers, printers, presentation systems, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
• Build and maintain jobsite LAN/WAN connectivity using copper and fiber-optic cabling, cellular modems, hotspots, antennas, and satellite internet hardware such as Starlink.
• Support the physical installation of security cameras, access control systems, and other specialized jobsite technology.
• Diagnose hardware, software, Wi-Fi, cellular, and Ethernet issues independently across active construction sites.
• Manage technology assets, software updates, patches, replacements, installation records, and service tickets.
• Coordinate equipment delivery, repairs, and service activations with telecommunications providers, technology vendors, and utility contractors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in IT support, network installation, field service, or infrastructure deployment.
• Experience installing and troubleshooting wired and wireless network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and access points.
• Working knowledge of cellular hotspots, satellite modems, external antennas, hardware deployment, and security devices.
• Ability to travel frequently nationwide and regionally, work overnight, and perform physical work indoors, outdoors, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.; valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record for the past 5 years.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise hardware, including Cisco routing and switching equipment.
• CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA certification.
• Experience supporting construction, engineering, or heavy industrial technology environments.
• Experience managing remote technology deployments across geographically dispersed sites.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field.
