Field Service Technician (Passenger Boarding Bridges)

Location: Roy, Utah, United States; field service at domestic and occasional international airport customer sites with up to 80% travel.

Salary: $57,600–$90,400 per year, plus hourly overtime and per diem for nights spent away from home while traveling.

What you will do

• Install, configure, diagnose, maintain, and repair passenger boarding bridges and related airport ground support equipment.
• Service drive systems, elevation mechanisms, rotunda and cab assemblies, docking mechanisms, gearboxes, bearings, and structural components.
• Troubleshoot wiring, relays, sensors, PLCs, control panels, PCA units, ground power units, and HVAC-related components.
• Conduct a Hazard Safety Assessment before each job and maintain service tools and repair inventory in the field vehicle.
• Communicate with customers, provide operational and maintenance guidance, and document service activities and repairs.
• Escalate complex issues, support service centers and dealer technicians, and contribute to root cause analysis and failure reporting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED plus at least three years of relevant experience in machine assembly, automotive or equipment maintenance, facilities maintenance, light fabrication, or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport.
• Ability to pass a TSA background check.
• Strong mechanical and technical skills with foundational electrical troubleshooting capability.
• Ability to read and interpret basic schematics and technical documentation.
• Ability to travel up to 80% and work across office, field, and production environments.

Nice to have

• Technical degree.
• Exposure to PLCs, automation systems, or control systems.
• Experience with construction equipment, heavy equipment, or automotive service.
• Customer-facing experience with strong communication skills.
