Vehicle Technical Support Specialist (Heavy Equipment)

Location: Dodge Center, Minnesota, United States; office-based duties combined with field or production-environment work and domestic travel as needed.

Salary: $64,500–$103,500 per year

What you will do

• Provide technical assistance to dealer networks and large fleet customer service teams for McNeilus refuse collection vehicles.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, software, and vehicle-system issues.
• Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, chat, and conferences, documenting interactions and issues in the CRM system.
• Use technical documentation and knowledge articles, identify inaccuracies, and develop new troubleshooting content.
• Mentor support colleagues, lead team meetings, and develop and present training for new products and enhancements.
• Share customer feedback with cross-functional teams and contribute to product improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with five or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Technical troubleshooting experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems used in heavy mobile equipment.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and software, CRM platforms, technical support tools, data analysis, and knowledge management systems.
• Experience troubleshooting battery electric vehicles or vehicle electrical systems.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, explain complex technical information clearly, and perform office, field, and production-environment duties.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Specialized Technology, or a related technical field.
• Experience developing technical training materials and supporting continuous product learning.
