Civil Engineer

Location: Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Four days per week are worked in the office, with flexibility to work outside the office on Fridays.

What you will do

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients within an integrated design process.
• Design and coordinate site development documents using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Prepare site layouts, grading and drainage plans, storm sewer and stormwater management designs, paving, site utilities, and related deliverables.
• Perform civil calculations, code research, engineering reports, narratives, specifications, and permitting applications.
• Review shop drawings and construction correspondence, and conduct site visits as needed.
• Manage multiple projects, priorities, schedules, and project goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE).
• 5+ years of civil engineering experience focused on building-related site development.
• Previous experience in an architecture/engineering or civil engineering design firm.
• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D and working knowledge of Hydraflow, Storm and Sanitary Sewer Analysis, and InfraWorks.
• Strong understanding of stormwater management and hydrologic design, with strong communication, problem-solving, creativity, and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience with sustainable site design and low-impact strategies.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS software.
• Knowledge of SketchUp or other site-plan rendering software.
