Experienced Liquid Chromatography Mass Spec Field Service Engineer (LC/MS)

Location: Remote in Massachusetts, United States; Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Overnight travel required 25–50% of the time depending on location.

Salary: $90,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Maintain, diagnose, repair, calibrate, and qualify HPLC, UPLC, LC/MS, and LC/MS/MS instruments.
• Recommend and implement improvements to analytical instrumentation and related software.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting support and solutions to customers, staff, management, and functional leaders.
• Source supplies and repair parts and coordinate vendor feedback and resources.
• Draft and revise standard operating procedures, calibration procedures, qualification protocols, reports, and other technical documentation.
• Audit equipment records, operational databases, and reports to resolve discrepancies and support quality assurance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, electronics, or a closely related field, plus eight years of instrument or equipment troubleshooting and repair experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Advanced to expert knowledge of HPLC, UPLC, LC/MS, and/or LC/MS/MS instrumentation.
• Advanced knowledge of testing tools, equipment, calibration, and diagnostic methods.
• Ability to administer mechanical, electrical, software-based, and instrument functions.
• Ability to interpret and apply applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to work independently, contribute to teams, lead projects, communicate with customers, and prepare technical reports and presentations.
