Field Service Engineer (Biotech)

Location: Remote from home, based in Maryland, servicing Durham, North Carolina and covering calls in South Carolina; travel up to 45–55% may include flying, driving, and overnight stays.

Annual salary: $65,000–$70,000, plus bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on designated customer equipment.
• Perform electrical and mechanical testing in accordance with maintenance contracts.
• Order and maintain spare parts inventory.
• Communicate with customers, document follow-up, and resolve service issues using root cause analysis.
• Generate leads for service agreements, parts, upgrades, consumables, and equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or a relevant biology, chemistry, or STEM degree.
• Equivalent military training may be considered.
• An associate degree requires at least 2 years of experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, or electronic equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be based in Maryland and able to travel regularly throughout the assigned service territory.
