Spec, Field Service (Medical Devices)

Location: Dallas, TX, United States (remote); the role manages a service territory and requires 50–75% travel, including overnight stays, long-distance driving, or flights.

Salary: $60,000–$75,000 annually.

What you will do

• Install, calibrate, perform preventive maintenance on, and repair electro-mechanical medical equipment.
• Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage an assigned service territory, scheduling service calls and travel to meet SLA commitments.
• Maintain service documentation, maintenance records, inventory transactions, parts orders, and test equipment calibration.
• Train customer personnel on equipment operation, maintenance, and inspection procedures.
• Communicate with customers, mentor technicians, support installation projects, and contribute to service improvements.

Requirements

• Experience in biomedical engineering, including installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of medical devices.
• Associate’s degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; alternative pathways include relevant experience, BMET certification, or a U.S. military electrical or biomedical equipment technology program.
• Ability to work independently, manage a territory, diagnose complex equipment problems, and follow safety and regulatory standards.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 50–75%, including overnight stays, are required.
• Ability to work in healthcare environments, follow PPE protocols, and regularly lift up to 50 lbs is required.
